Kids Sports Radio Jobs description
A kids sports radio broadcaster works in a station where distribution of audio signals is carried out. The job involves transmitting programs to an audience, or a relatively large sub-audience, such as children or youngsters. A kids sports radio broadcaster thoroughly studies the sport one wishes to broadcast. A kids sports radio broadcaster prepares and delivers sports news, gathers and rewrites material so that it convey required information and fit specific time slots. A kids sports radio broadcaster selects, writes, and delivers sports news of and for the kids, interviews local sports figures and covers local children sporting events. A kids sports radio broadcaster also interviews kids playing and covers the local sporting event. A kids sports radio broadcaster provides live game coverage, tape interviews and stories relating to the local kids events. A kids sports radio broadcaster reads news flashes to inform audiences of important events. A kids sports radio broadcaster identifies stations, and introduces shows, using memorized or read scripts, and/or ad-libs associated with kids. A kids sports radio broadcaster selects program content, in conjunction with producers and assistants, based on factors such as program specialties, audience tastes, or requests from the public.A kids sports radio broadcaster requires a bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or should have experience with children as well as few years experience which can expose one to certain aspects of being a kids radio broadcaster. A kids sports radio broadcaster should be trained in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are required.
