Rock Radio Jobs description
A rock radio announcer specializes in a particular area of music. A rock radio announcer always makes his own choices when selecting music; the rest is left up to management team who prepares talk, music, and commercial schedules. A rock radio announcer performs common tasks of on-air interviewing, taking listener requests and managing on-air contests, and commenting on news, traffic and weather. A rock radio announcer selects phonograph or tape recording to be played based on program specialty, knowledge of audience taste, or listening audience requests. A rock radio announcer comments on music and other matters of interest to the audience. A rock radio announcer interviews musical personalities as well as interviews members of listening audience who telephone musical requests. A rock radio announcer specializes in one type of music, for example classical, pop, rock, or country and western. A rock radio announcer writes entries onto log to provide information on all elements aired during broadcast, for example musical selections and station promotions.A rock radio requires a bachelor’s degree or a diploma. A rock radio announcer should be knowledgeable of equipment and music. A rock radio announcer should be committed and should have microphone proficiency. A rock radio announcer should have impeccable reliability and dependability and should have strong music background. Exceptional customer service skills and excellent communication skills required.
