Job OverviewnSchedules and selects proper music for air play to achieve a high listener base for the station.nResponsibilitiesnEssential Duties & Responsibilities include, but not limited to:nn Writes and reads, or ad-libs segments to identify station, announce station breaks, commercials, etc.n Prepares and creates a topical show by gathering information from social media, web sites, periodicals and television.n Writes and publishes relevant content to social media and station website. n Conducts, records and edits interviews with musical guests or other famous personalities.n Answer phone lines and interviews members of listening audience.n Plans and attends in-person appearances and remotes including community events, concerts and u201cbar nights.u201dn Maintains and builds a positive cooperative attitude within station departments.n Follow and enforces FCC regulations, station and company polices, including implementing stationu2019s/stateu2019s EAS procedures.n Performs additional duties such as production, assisting program director, operating radio transmitter.n Schedules daily music logs and manages music library.n Plays music as specified by program director and music log. n Compiles data to be presented in weekly music meetings.n Experience in setting up music categories and scheduling music for an adult contemporary formatted station.n Other duties assigned as-needed.nnDesired Skills & ExperiencenQualifications:nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.n Experience with music scheduling software (Music Master/RCS).n Experience with Adobe Audition and Wide Orbit is a plus.n Must have at least 2 yearsu2019 experience as a full time on-air host. n Valid driveru2019s license and state mandated auto insurance required.nnLanguage Skills:nAbility to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.n nReasoning Ability:nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.n nOther Skills and Abilities:nComputer literate and knowledge of music scheduling software. Operation of production equipment and editing programs. Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. Good public relations skills.
