Day JobJob SensitivityTier I - Non Security Sensitive Position Summary: Under general supervision, provides hardware and software technical support for video conference , telephone, voice messaging systems and streaming media systems. Monitors and resolves telecommunications hardware and software problems. Assists vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. Makes phone system additions, changes, installs new station equipment. Procures new equipment. Installs and maintains videoconference tools and technologies, streaming media technoloy, VoIP system and analog, digital, IP phones, fax machines and modems. Key Responsibilities: Operates and maintains video conference and streaming mediau00a0systems and technologies. Performs the systems administration to support configuration and technical support functions for the District's PBX system, call management system, voice mail systems, call accounting system, and voice recording systems. Installs telephone sets (analog, digital and IP Hardphones), fax machines, modems and associated wiring. Programs users for IP Agent and IP Softphone. Coordinates with vendors for equipment installations, circuit installations, software upgrades and any other issues that require the telecommunications vendoru2019s assistance. Monitors vendors performing telecommunication services and monitors quality of work. Provides telecommunications support to the District. Responsible for the installation, maintenance and operations of all communications equipment. Troubleshoots routine problems and escalates problems to vendors when necessary. Coordinates with vendors on maintenance support for all telecommunications equipment within the District. Monitors all systems daily and provides on call technical support when required. Provides technical support to users and makes recommendation to the business users on how to improve their communications. Conducts annual telephone surveys and maintains accurate inventory records. Oversees the preparation of telephone directories and maintains records and manuals. Oversees processing of invoices and associated accounting entries for telecommunications services. Contacts vendors, receives bids, prepares requisitions, obtains purchase order information and places orders as directed. Prepares budget projections for unit, monitors budget experience, and explains variances. Responsible for the internal telephone wiring and cabling for the central site's telephone system. Designs and installs new cabling and wiring schemes in support of moves within the central site. Ensures optimal security measures are in place to protect telecommunications systems and to protect the Bank. Minimize access to PBX system, wire rooms and systems administrator's computers through effective password and key control measures. Ensures users comply with Bank/District regulations, department objectives, and published telephone procedures. Coordinates with middle management, administrators, and officers of the Bank for the purpose of planning and discussing their current and future telecommunications requirements. Assists in the development of a Telecommunications Disaster Recovery Plan. Education: Associate's Degree or 2 years equivalent experience; Bachelor's Degree preferred Experience: Two to five years preferred Knowledge Area/Technical Skills/Certifications and Licenses: Proficiency in videoconference and streaming media technologies Basic System Administration on PBX Individual Competencies Demonstrates Self-Awareness Problem Solving Action-Oriented Collaborates Communicates Effectively This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, performance standards or requirements, efforts, skills or working conditions associated with the job.
