Description: Role Details:TV Guide.com is looking for a hungry, experienced writer to join our Features team.The ideal candidate is tapped into the cultural conversations surrounding TV and can translate that understanding into sharp reported pieces that further that conversation, as well as delivering thoughtful cultural critiques. They should be able to find unique, interesting stories in shows ranging from The Bachelor to Game of Thrones to Lovesick to the next great show no one has ever heard of. They should also be excited and energized to experiment with innovative storytelling formats, whether those are personal essays, organizing high level roundtables, hilarious and shareable riffs in list form, video projects, and more.Your Day-to-Day: Pitch, research and plan out features for next week, month, quarter. Publish one feature (evergreen list, take, reported piece) per day. Turn around timely edits. Adhere to and check in about reporting plans for features in progress, including reporting in and out of the office. Maintain and update TV Guide\u2019s special sections. Work with the video team to expand features coverage beyond the text. Key Projects: Pitch big ideas for cross-platform packages that include editorial, video and social like our upcoming Pride Month package about LGBTQ representation on screen. Create video series and podcast ideas that further TV Guide\u2019s brand identity. Plan innovative coverage for major industry events like TCAs, Comic Con, Awards Season, Premiere Red Carpets, and more. Create new innovative formats for the features team to tell stories with. Qualifications: What you bring to the team: Bachelor\u2019s degree (or equivalent experience) 3 years of experience in entertainment journalism. A strong knowledge of pop culture \u2014 specifically the television business \u2014 and a passion for covering it. An innate ability to think outside the box and find the angle on a story that no one\u2019s thought of. Ability to creatively source stories. Deep understanding of stories that create and drive conversation on social. Willingness to travel for work and do on the ground reporting.
