Responsibilities \u2022 Operates control board for studios and remote programming. \u2022 Regulates program timing, operates syndicated programming and control board for play-by-play coverage, and plays commercials. \u2022 Monitors the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from master control room. \u2022 Supports off-air commercial production, dubbing music to hard disk and programming automation computers. \u2022 Protects station\u2019s license by censoring live programs and deleting words\/phrases not permitted on air. \u2022 Executes playlists for server or simulcast programming. \u2022 Assists with adjusting signal and programming content to ensure transmission meets federally mandated broadcast standards. \u2022 Processes time-out programming for accurate play back. \u2022 Monitors and updates weather, traffic and news and sports reports into automation equipment. \u2022 Checks studio equipment for proper functioning and notifies Engineering of technical malfunctions affecting quality of the broadcast. \u2022 Screens in-coming phone calls and selectively chooses callers for On-Air Talent and talk shows. \u2022 Handles emergency inserts (e.g. news updates, breaking stories, alert system tests, etc.).
