The Digital Media Producer plays a major role in the day-to-day execution of Telemundo Washington DCâ€-trade;s digital news strategy, working with other local digital staff to ensure the offering is consistently up-to-the-minute, differentiated, impactful and relevant to a new generation of local users. The role combines acute attention to detail, rapid response, editorial judgment and flair, and consistent day-to-day execution and project-management responsibilities within a 24/7 newsgathering operation. Responsibilities include:
Gather, edit, package and publish local news content â€ focusing on News, Weather and Traffic â€ to the stationâ€-trade;s digital platforms
Write text articles, publish video clips and edit image galleries according to the local editorial â€voiceâ€
Program key related index pages for editorial impact, audience appeal and timeliness
Gather and package relevant content around key stories from a range of external sources, feeds and content types
Execute all publishing workflows for video, images and text including publishing to social media platforms
Enforce editorial style guides, standards and practices
Participate in efforts to hit aggressive daily benchmarks for the volume and frequency of local content publication
Work with corporate editorial staff and editors in other local markets to share stories and resources across all NBC websites
Assist in identifying freelance contributors and managing of content partnerships

NBCUniversal is launching a new Telemundo-owned station in Washington, D.C. This project will expand NBC Washington / WRC-TVâ€-trade;s news staff with a new team of Spanish-speaking and bilingual journalists to launch the new station. Both news teams will serve local Spanish- and English-speaking viewers in the greater Washington, D.C. region. The new Telemundo station team will work closely with WRC-TVâ€-trade;s team members in the existing facility that is home to NBC Washington.
NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations is the division of NBCUniversal that includes 30 NBC and Telemundo local television stations, a regional news network and their associated websites and digital platforms, as well as a group of out-of-home properties, a production company, an in-house marketing and promotions company and two national multicast networks, COZI TV and TeleXitos. The local stations, which can be viewed in 37 percent of U.S. homes and in Puerto Rico, produce and deliver their local communities compelling and unique local news, real-time weather forecasts, consumer and investigative reports and entertainment programming across all platforms to help keep their English and Spanish-speaking audiences informed anytime and anywhere.
District of Columbia
Minimum 3 yearsâ€-trade; experience working in print, online or television news in a medium to large sized market
Experience working with social media, marketing products using social networking sites or creating content that lives on such sites
Experience working with content management systems
Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal
Bachelorâ€-trade;s degree in Journalism or equivalent work experience
Must be willing to work in Washington, D.C.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays or overnights as required
Must have a valid driverâ€-trade;s license

Excellent news instincts combined with the ability to write succinctly and with flair
Ability to work on decisively on multiple tasks and stories simultaneously in a fast paced environment
Ability to react to breaking news, updating the news as stories evolve and writing intros and leads to video online content
Ability to work in a team and across all departments ensuring digital formats that are accurate without typos or errors
Demonstrated knowledge of AP Style writing and guidelines
Proficient in Social Media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, Storify, Tumbler, etc.
Proficient with Adobe Photoshop Elements
Experience using data visualization formats such as storytelling tools a plus
Experience with Dalet, Clickability, Social Flow, Stratus and Vibrint systems a plus
