Radio Advertising Jobs
A radio advertiser operates radio equipment in order to communicate with ships, aircraft, mining crews, offshore oil rigs, logging camps and other remote operations. A radio advertiser turns controls or throw switches in order to activate power, adjusts voice volume and modulation, and set transmitters on specified frequencies; broadcast weather reports and warnings; conducts periodic equipment inspections and routine tests in order to ensure that operations standards are met. A radio advertiser examines and operates new equipment prior to installation in order to ensure that it performs properly; operates sound-recording equipment in order to record signals and preserve broadcasts for purposes such as analysis by intelligence personnel and repairs radio equipment as necessary, using electronic testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools. A radio advertiser reviews applicable regulations regarding radio communications, and report violations. A radio advertiser sends, receives, and interprets coded messages.
A four-year college degree or equivalent work experience is required for a radio advertiser job. Two years of experience is also preferred for radio advertiser jobs. Good communication skills are must for radio advertiser jobs. Radio production skills, including audio editing using Adobe Audition, are also desirable.
