How often have you been driving down the highway, listening to the radio and then have heard the smooth sounds of the perfect voice coming out of the box that just put a smile on your face. DJ's are more than just a voice; they are personalities that become part of our family. Whether it is a famous DJ in Memphis, that is spinning country music or a monster personality working out of New York, these people become part of our lives and we just cannot live without them.

When you look at entertainment today and see some of the personalities that are getting the most press, it is not just movie stars. Some of these individuals have never even seen their picture in the paper but their voices and words are known around the nation. The first name of course that comes to mind is Stern. He has brought radio into a whole new era and is the perfect example of how a radio DJ can not only become famous but can become an industry in itself.

DJs like him across the country have actually popularized radio over television. Every day there is another talk radio station that films live on air. Radio is a craze that is sweeping the nation and we have those special voices to thank for it all!

Being a DJ also gives you access to other forms of entertainment that you would not normally be privy to. A great many comedians you see today actually got their start as DJs. While they had their fair share of fame over the air, they reached stardom when they were able to market themselves in a different area of show business and became household names. It is actually mind blowing when you think of how many big names started out by spinning records and are now super stars in the entertainment industry.

What is our obsession with these individuals? How do they become so famous? What are DJs doing in New York or Memphis that gets them the limelight that a DJ in Pittsburgh cannot do? Are there any Memphis radio jobs that have not already been taken? Maybe, there are some San Francisco radio jobs out there to pursue. It is all about the audiences you are reaching and the diversity that they represent. The more types of individuals you are getting on board with your sound, the more likely you are to becoming the next big name in the industry.

Becoming a DJ is not about spinning records. Rather, it is about becoming the voice of the people in a way that is entertaining while capturing the pulse of the people that are listening to you. It is about voicing their concerns in a manner in which they are incapable of. You have the ability to be heard, it is what we all want, and that ability is what will take you to the top of the industry and turn you into a star. Have you ever thought that there might be Denver radio jobs with your name on them?

DJs themselves are unique individuals. We all know they have a special or soothing voice that captures our attention but they also have the ability to lead us down a path and hypnotize us with their words. Becoming famous in this line of work is not an easy job but for those select few with the vision and talent, the sky is the limit.

How exactly does one become a DJ and reach that superstar status? Work, work, work!
There may be a rare case of someone getting on radio and then becoming a superstar but they are rare. Most of these individuals have been in the industry for years and worked themselves up off the worst slots. DJs have also educated themselves.

You would be surprised how many of them have significant educational backgrounds in English. You do after all have to have a command of the language and studying the language extensively will only benefit you. They also have experience in theater and speech. Again, you need good tools that prove to be extremely useful as you are literally putting on your own play each night.

The path of DJs usually begins far from the limelight. We have all listened to the morning show where the intern is being abused in humorous sketches or his personal life is being hung out for everyone to see. That individual very well may be the next personality that we are tuning into every day as they get invaluable experience working in internships. It is also a great networking tool and way to get your foot in the door. Greatness does not happen overnight and everyone has to pay his or her dues.

Well now, you have heard the positives and the negatives of the wonderful world of DJ and now you are ready to start your journey into becoming the next famous DJ. Perhaps you are already a DJ and only one step away from stardom. Whether you are doing Memphis radio jobs or New York, Detroit or LA radio jobs, everyone wants to be swept away by that magical voice.
